History

ACTION Impact Missions was started in 1998 when two servants of God, endowed by Him with matching visions for Christian young people, followed His call to enter into a marriage and a ministry, both of which have been consistently led by God's hand. Jory and Tess Rolf founded ACTION Impact Missions in Ventura, CA and from the very beginning, the passion behind this ministry was to change the world for Christ, through raising up young people intent on bringing glory to God, not vain satisfaction to themselves.

God gave Jory the vision to start a creative evangelism ministry and a “school on wheels” while he was teaching school in Denver, Colorado. Anyone could read the history of our forefathers or watch a video about nature, but how many young people could actually experience “hands-on” the rich heritage of our country or see first-hand the beautiful world God created for us? With the vision, God also gave Jory the passion for excellence evangelism: excellence in everything! This means living your life so that any aspect of it could win someone to Christ. Tess and Jory Rolf recognized that Christian young people, especially homeschoolers, raised in solid homes with a Christian, family-oriented foundation, were situated just right to rise to this challenge. Best yet, they could take their school on the road!

Thus, in 1998, after their marriage, the Road-School program was started. The first Mission Trip took place in October 1998, comprised of eight young ladies. They traveled for three weeks through California, taking the gospel of Jesus Christ to a world in need, using mime, drama and sign language. Young people were being taught to proclaim Christ through creative arts on stage, as well as every minute of every day through their attitudes and actions. February of 1999 brought another Mission Trip across California, and soon gave rise to a new aspect of the ministry.

Many of the groups who had been through workshops now formed into localized AIM Teams. These local teams provide long-term discipleship and ministry opportunities for Christian young people, training them to be the next missionaries, Christian leaders, pastors and evangelists of America.

Since then, God has been growing AIM in amazing ways. Mission Trips continue to be sent out each year, now reaching far beyond California, to the East Coast, Southeast, and everywhere in between, even Alaska! New AIM Teams are started each year, ensuring that ministry continues in the areas we visit. Existing AIM Teams continue to grow, ministering in their local community year-round, and when God leads, going outside of their own communities to start new AIM Teams or embark upon Mission Trips, around the country and on foreign soil. Truly God is amazing!

Tess and Jory Rolf continued to direct the ministry as a couple, coordinating and meeting needs for AIM Teams while taking out two to three Mission Trips every year and still raising their children. It soon became obvious that God was growing the ministry bigger than one couple could handle! So, the LifeSTEP Intern Program was created to train young Christian adults how to run a nationwide ministry on a daily basis. The purpose of the program was actually twofold, as it provided mentoring, training and service opportunities for the college-age students joining the program as well as people to help with all the needs of this burgeoning young ministry.

In fall of 2004 the East Coast Mission Trip was directed by a young adult who had been trained through the LifeSTEP Program, and thus we are beginning to see God bring more people alongside to take on serious responsibilities within AIM. Please join with us as we continue to pray for God to expand His ministry through AIM, and to provide people and resources to carry out His plans. May He continue to be the one glorified through His people in ACTION Impact Missions.
