The mission trips are underway for this summer! I had the opportunity (in between work) to help out at the training camp as both teams learned together. We've already heard some of the things that God did at training camp including helping Royce heal and make it in good time to join the Alaska team. Also, a stomach virus managed to mingle its way into the team, leaving half the team sick to the stomach. Yet, now as they leave, it is pretty much gone, only having been about 2 days! We may continue to pray for my sister, Rachel, and the Voth's daughter Audrey who were the only two still feeling bad when they left.
Ok. Updates
The Alaska team is in the air! If everything went as planned, they Alaska people are on their plane now from Salt Lake City to Anchorage. They'll be landing at about midnight their time (or 3am central time) making for a very long day. Pray they'll get rested after a hard week and a few long days so that they are ready and prepared to tackle the largest state in the union!
The Mid-West team is not in the air! Thankfully. No, they are actually in Bartlesville, Oklahoma doing volunteer work at Voice of the Martyrs in the morning and running a workshop in the afternoon. Tomorrow will be day number two. Pray that they can learn a lot from this first stop about how their workshops and Bible studies should run. I gather that the first day was rough because they were underprepared since so much time had been taken by sickness at training camp. Pray the Bible studies will come together powerfully and effectively and that the team can continue to grow together in their early struggles. They were extremely excited about getting on the road, so pray God will sustain their passion!
