Ha ha! That really made me laugh! I am the judge and I can just imagine how that would work... and it sounds like you have bottomless pockets!
I have never seen Slam but it sounds really neat. I would love to learn it. _________________ TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

We do everything different than everybody. Jenny is our director.
How do you do it?
BTW, sorry that we only got half of the song on there. For some reason Dad cut it off halfway through the song. _________________ TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

You definitely do it differently than it was originally choreographed which, I can understand your excuse that "Jenny is our director," but this is a little different considering the fact that she and I were the ones who originally choreographed it. =) Hmm...that Jenny. So now this raises a question....does every team do different songs differently? When Andrew came out to Bakersfield and was helping us fix "America Again", he taught us some stuff that was different from the way we learned it... _________________ Ricky

There are usually a few little tweaks to every song. These occur because of variations in personal style that get passed down, or because of different ministry situations. Major differences happen sometimes because one team will end up choreographing the same song as another, and of course they end up very different. "Slam" is a great example of this, as the two San Diego teams do it the same basic way with some major variations, but Christ in ACTION (I think) did it COMPLETELY different, because they choreographed it from scratch at the same time as San Diego was doing so. _________________ Ego sum via veritas et vita ---The WORD

Spirit of America -- make sure the "America Bless God" banner doesn't flip over the top so it is un-readable.
Gifter -- if you're an angel, make sure you know what you're doing and you don't throw down the "hope" or "faith" banner at the wrong time. If you are Eve, remember that there is a point to throw down your white sash.
God Bless the USA -- it is always good to have a main person who is ready when the music starts. Bibles are useful. It is helpful when the person who "stands up" knows when to stand up, and equally helpful if there are two people and the one who stands up actually does it.
End of the Beginning -- aisles are nice.
In general...
Remember to take off your vest after the patriotic songs.
Set the angel capes and Jesus sash in a place where they can be found (i.e. NOT under all the banners for Spirit of America).
It is good to know what you're doing.
If it is 92 degrees, two shirts is probably NOT a good idea.
There is no such thing as too much powder (or, there is and I haven't found it yet).
Mime tans are all the rage these days, ya' know.
Water is helpful (Jenny was about to pass out).
Don't leave your CD's at your practicing place.
Remember to get ALL the props out of the van.
Andrew's iPod can get kind of annoying (it was playing Pledge to the Flag under Honor to Serve).
If you have a surrounding audience, DON'T talk to your neighbor (Don't do it anyway, but...).
Help the guys tuck in their vests.
Hey, "take initiative onstage," why don't you?
I'm sure that most of you know most of those things already, but I find it fun to point them out. _________________ TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

Yes, we learned all those things today.
A couple more:
If you are carrying the flag and the wind has blown it onto your head, you have permission (from Tess!) to reach up and correct it.
Jesus: if you use one of those little white sashes from Gifter in place of your purple sash, it looks pretty corny. Don't do it. Go sashless if you must, but don't do it.
Yes, the presentations today were... interesting... to say the least. _________________ ~ katie [psalm 42]

HA! Now that flag thing was funny.
We were presenting Honor to Serve and "when they lifted the flag," the flag bearer marched out with the flag on top of his head and all the soldiers were standing there trying very hard to be solumn, but not succeeding very well -- I even heard Jenny laughing beside me! It was a laugh, that's for sure... _________________ TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

Goodness, Jessica, but you take thorough notes! I suppose, though, you've been around other *ahem* thorough note-takers. _________________ Ego sum via veritas et vita ---The WORD

Well, yes, I learned from the best, you know.
I think I'm like that by nature, though. Remember when I went to Kentucky for... what was it? Thirty-two hours? Ask Jenny, I remembered every tiny little detail about that trip and wrote nine pages about it! I think I get it from my mom... but it wouldn't be stretching it to say that your *very* thorough note-taking incurred some of the same in me. _________________ TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
