ACTION Impact Missions Teams are year-round creative evangelism and discipleship teams dedicated to living and proclaiming God's love and God's word in their local community. AIM Teams include young people of a wide age-range; while most teams are made up primarily of homeschoolers, students in other situations are welcome to join if they are available. Most teams meet to practice for two to four hours, once each week. A practice time includes student-led Bible study, prayer, sometimes worship through music, and rehearsal of skits used to proclaim the gospel.
AIM Teams use mime, drama, sign language, and other creative methods to share the gospel in their community. Teams also participate in service projects to share Christ's love tangibly, and are trained in personal evangelism to win others for Christ. In addition, AIM challenges young people to live differently than the world around them, exemplifying God's word in their actions, attitudes and speech. Every AIM Team's goal is to disciple team members to "set the example for the believers in speech, life, love, faith, and purity."
Another goal of every AIM Team is to be student-led, but adult-facilitated. It is our desire to see young people take on leadership roles, and learn to serve behind the scenes, to make decisions that glorify God, and always lead others into a closer relationship with Christ. The SALTeam (Student Action Leadership Team) heads up these efforts, leading, guiding and mentoring the rest of the team. The SALTeam is, in turn, mentored by the LITE (Leaders In Training Excellence) Team, a group of mature Christian men and women dedicated to empowering and teaching young Christian leaders. The LITE Team is extremely important, as they facilitate the growth for the students who will reach the rest of the team.
This is the AIM Team model of discipleship: LITE Team reaching SALTeam, SALTeam reaching the rest of the team, and the entire team reaching out to the world!
