"Alaska" Road School Mission Trip - Summer 2006
“Okay everyone, I want ten jumping Jareds!”, “Now I want everyone to sit on their hands, and show me you believe this song, with just your face, no other movement!”

It was 10:30 at night, but the sun was still out, and we couldn’t wait till we reached our destination. Suddenly we drove over a hill, and our breath was taken away.

Our first stop was at an Evangelical Free Church in Anchorage. When we walked in the door we met a group of missionaries from a ministry called SEND International, which sends out missionaries to native communities across Alaska every summer.

As we left Homer and headed for Chistochina, we began to prepare for the Vacation Bible School we would be leading there. The village of Chistochina is a small native community of about one hundred people.

The workshop in Kenai was absolutely the most incredible experience of my life! I learned a lot about how to run a workshop. I also learned a lot about how not to run one.

Saying goodbye is always hard. It is especially difficult when you’re saying goodbye to everyone who you shared a life-changing mission trip with.
